About Art Therapy
When individuals find themselves in challenging or stagnant situations, verbal communication can often feel overwhelming or daunting. Art therapy offers a solution by providing art materials that aid in expression, enabling clients to convey thoughts and emotions that words may struggle to capture effectively.
Art Therapists create a secure and nurturing space for individuals to explore their feelings through creative means. Fostering self-awareness and personal growth. Through this visual medium, individuals can bring order to internal turmoil and reorganise their thoughts and emotions effectively.

What people are saying about
Kaleido Art Therapy
Art Therapy student
Annie has been an invaluable resource for myself as a trainee art therapist. She has supported my learning and helped me expand my practice knowledge through informal supervision, co-facilitation and professional advice in a way that is specific to art therapy and could not have been gained from practitioners from other disciplines. As a result of Annie establishing the discipline at hospital, I had more opportunities to participate in art therapy groups and received more referrals as staff and patients were aware of the practice. My learning would not have been as comprehensive without these experiences, and I am grateful to the exceptional work Annie has done to promote Art Therapy.โ

Senior Psychologist
I have been so impressed by the work that you do individually with our patients, in addition to the Groups and Art Therapy studio you have set up.
โ
You have been able to assist some of our long-stay patients to develop awareness and recognition of strong emotions. These mostly being sadness and anger that is so critical in recovery but also enables the team to further develop patient resilience and coping. In terms of violence risk management, appropriate coping strategies are critical. Without first having awareness and recognition of these emotions, coping strategy's beyond positive re-framing can not be developed. As such, recognition of strong emotions and distress is key in developing coping strategies that ameliorate risk.
โ
I have received overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the work in the Group you set up- by staff and patients - particularly for people that refuse Psychology.
I have seen the work you do be able to provide another perspective on patients that have been puzzling or challenging for the team to manage. Finally, whilst co-facilitating one of the Creative Calm Studio sessions with you I saw the benefit of dedicated Art Therapy for the patients including being able to have insight into motor functioning, watching them be able to improve concentration, able to provide their ideas and feedback on theirs and others work, be open to the possibility of experimentation and build self-esteem when viewing their work. โ
